Discover Benin through its relationships

A stay that leaves room for faces, gestures and landscapes.

Stays imagined with local communities

Explore the stays

Some journeys are told through the places visited. Others are told through the people met, the meals shared and the habits we took time to understand.

With Xwévi, Kakèkanmè becomes an anchor for discovering the Zou from within. You arrive curious, stay long enough to recognise faces, and leave with a relationship that continues.

Experience the territory differently

An immersion built around the village, its people and what cannot be scheduled.

Take time to be there

The village is not an extra stop on a circuit. It is the place from which the stay finds its rhythm. A day may begin with a shared gesture, continue over a meal and end with a conversation nobody had planned.

Explore from Kakèkanmè

From Kakèkanmè, the Zou can be discovered differently: through its history, landscapes, markets, crafts and the people who keep them alive. Each outing extends the relationship begun in the village.

News from the village

In Kakèkanmè, days keep their own rhythm. People meet around a meal, take time to greet their neighbours, then return to their work. Guests are welcomed into this movement, without a programme covering up local life.

In recent weeks, residents have continued preparing the houses, sharing their know-how and imagining new ways to introduce the surroundings of Abomey and the Zou. Part of each stay goes directly to the people and local providers who make it possible.

Around the table

Recipes are passed on while preparing food together. A meal becomes a time for conversation, curiosity and discovery.

Along the Zou’s paths

From the village, routes connect markets, histories, landscapes and crafts, with Kakèkanmè as an anchor.

Words that stay

“They did not show us the village. They gave us time to meet it.”

Christophe · Horizons stay

“The most precious moments were the unplanned ones: a conversation, a detour, a name you remember.”

Another way to travel in Benin

An immersive stay is not only about seeing more. It is about understanding differently, accepting a slower rhythm and letting encounters change your perspective.

The people involved in welcoming guests, accommodation, meals and activities are paid for their contribution. Part of each stay also supports a village fund, according to the format chosen.

The idea is simple: a stay should be good for travellers and for the territory welcoming them. That balance is where the most meaningful experiences begin.
